Mistakes You Should Avoid When Buying a Camera Lens

I love camera lenses to an extent that when I am not working I find myself looking at different lenses that I want to buy. The ecstatic feeling of buying a new lens that you have been wanting for long is something that is extremely difficult to explain.

Keeping that in mind, if you do want to get your hands on a good lens, there are some mistakes that you should avoid when buying a camera lens. Why? Because it is really an important factor that you need to look for and something that you should not avoid. You can see more here for those who want to get started.

For now, we are going to talk about few of the mistakes that are common.

Buying a Cheap Lens

One big mistake that I see a lot of people make is that they end up buying a cheap lens. Sure, it might sound like a sensible decision to do it in the first place but do know that cheap lenses aren’t really good. The best cheapest lens you can get is a 50mm f/1.8; this is regardless of the camera brand you have, and you should not go lower than this.

Getting a Smaller Aperture

Unless your use case warrants it, there is actually no point of getting a smaller aperture at all. These lenses are not going to be good in low light, so you will either have to use more light or simply, shoot at higher ISOs as well.

These are some of the important things that you need to keep in mind whenever you are going for a new camera lens. Once you have avoided these mistakes, the process shouldn’t be a difficult one.
